Lucy Evans
For Lucy, art is a quest — a form of inner freedom. It is a way to engage in a sincere dialogue with the world while exploring what often remains invisible: vulnerability, symbolism, resilience, and the quiet strength that emerges in moments of loss or transformation. In her work, she seeks to convey the inner strength of the human spirit — the ability to transform wounds into wisdom while preserving tenderness and beauty. Her portraits function as psychological spaces: they go beyond the representation of faces to become places where memory, emotion, and the unconscious intersect. Lucy views art as a constant process of discovery — of oneself and of the world. Through her practice, she invites viewers to confront both fragility and resilience, tenderness and violence, and to find within these contrasts a renewed sense of strength, awareness, and balance.
Lucy Evans was born in Kyïv, Ukraine. In 2019, she graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAFAA) in Kyiv, with a Master’s degree in easel painting. After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the artist moved to France, where she joined the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris (2022–present).
