Victoria Rose Torre
Victoria Rose Torre’s work in painting is about the land and sky, the container in which our entire lives play out. This container holds our wonders, our disasters, and our anthropological quandaries. By using traditional oil and watercolor techniques, she brings the genre of landscape painting into the vast intersections of land justice in today's world.
Paintings of the sun, water, moon and stars are accessible entry points into deeper, holistic meditations upon nature. She is inspired by the energy of the natural world seen through light, constantly working to translate this holistic messaging into a visual language. She does this to bring forth radical ways of seeing the world, asking questions like how might we change our behaviors and beliefs to suit a better future, or how can nature, knowing what it knows and seeing what it has seen, show us the way.
